Content Management Systems - FAQ

Q. What is a Content Management System?
A. A Content Management System, or CMS, is a web-tool that allows users to
access most areas of their website to make changes without ever having
to contact a designer or web company. The CMS allows you and your staff to
add, edit, delete pages, or even optimize your own website.

Q. What are the benefits of a Content Management System?
A.
Control. Convenience. Cost.  The ability to update and add content
(information) to your website anytime from any computer with an Internet
connection is a clear convenience. This removes the web company (read: high
maintenance fees) from the process of making simple changes or adding new
pages. Consequently, the company has complete control over its own site.
Search engines favor websites that are consistently updated and the CMS enables
the user to effectively do this.

If the ultimate goal of your website is to generate new business, your site needs to attract visitors. Attracting visitors involves providing useful and relevant content that is directed towards your potential customers and clients.  If your site just floats in cyberspace with static content, two things will happen: 1) no incentive for repeat visitors, 2) the search engines will lose interest in your site, resulting in poor ranking. If potential clients do a keyword search pertaining to your comapny and they don’t find your website, you essentially do not exist.

The reason most firms squander time and money on a website is because they
fail to maintain it, claiming it's a tedious and expensive task.
Assuming
the company understands that quality content will lead to new visitors and
new business, the failure to add updated information usually occurs because 1)
they don't know how, 2) it's too time consuming, 3) it costs too much money.
Our Content Management System solves these issues.

Q. Is a Content Management System Complicated to Use?
A.
It’s not. If you're efficient in word processing programs like Microsoft
Word or Corel's WordPerfect, then you can use a CMS effectively.

Careful when choosing: Not all Content Management Systems are alike!
As with any product, some are better than others. There are a variety of
cheap, low quality content management systems available. However, your
website is an investment. When utilized effectively, it can make you
millions of dollars. For this reason, it is important to choose a high
quality CMS.
